The first match of the two-Twenty-20 match series between Pakistan and England will be played at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff on Sunday (September 5).

It will be the sixth match between Pakistan and England in Twenty-20 cricket and third in England

Pakistan have won two and England three in five previous matches between the two teams. The record is even in matches played in England. Pakistan defeated England by 5 wickets when two teams met first time in a Twenty-20 matches at Bristol on August 28, 2006 while England beat Pakistan by 48 runs when they met second time at The Oval on June 7,2009.

The Sunday’s match will be the first Twenty-20 match at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff who can accommodate 15000 people. It will become the ninth English ground to host Twenty-20 international matches after Southampton (four matches), Bristol (two matches), The Oval (22 matches), Manchester (six matches), Chester-le-Street (two matches), Lord’s (16 matches), Nottingham (20 matches) and Birmingham (four matches).

HIGHEST INNINGS TOTALS:

England’s 185 for five in 20 overs at The Oval on June 7, 2009 is the highest total against Pakistan. Pakistan’s highest against England is 149 for six in 19 overs at Dubai on February 20, 2010.

LOWET INNINGS TOTALS:

Pakistan made 129 for eight in 20 overs at Dubai on February 19, 2010 which is their lowest total against England. England’s 144 for seven in 20 overs at Bristol on August 28, 2006 is their lowest against Pakistan.

HIGHEST INDIVIDUAL SCORES:

Kevin Pietersen who made an unbeaten 73 off 52 balls with eight fours and two sixes, holds the record of highest indivdual score for England against Pakistan. Younis Khan, Mohammed Hafiz and Abdur Razzaq shared the record for the highest individual score for Pakistan against England. Mohammed Hafiz scored 46 at Bristol on August 28, 2006. Younis Khan made an unbeaten 46 at The Oval on June 7,2009 while Abdur Razzaq played an unbeaten knock of 46 at Dubai on February 20,2010.

BEST BOWLING PERFORMANCE:

Graeme Swann holds the record of best bowling performance for England against Pakistan. The right-arm off-break bowler took three wickets for 14 runs at Dubai on February 20, 2010. Abdur Razzaq’s three for 30 at Bristol on August 28, 2006 is the best by a Pakistani bowler against England.
